I’ve been tagged!

Lisa Has Tagged Me

Here are the rules:
1. The rules of the game get posted at the beginning.
2. Each player answers the questions about themselves.
3. At the end of the post, the player tags 5 people and posts their name, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

What was I doing 10 years ago:
Ten years ago (1998), I was living in Westminster, CA with my hunny, my boys and my mom, who was having her knee replacement surgeries. I wish I could say that I had good memories of that year but it was the year my optic nerve damage was first discovered and I was experiencing a lot of fatigue that I didn’t understand. My oldest son was just entering kindergarten, and my middle child was just entering the terrible twos. For a child with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, it felt like a whirlwind of meltdowns caused by nothing I could pinpoint and nothing he could tell me. When I wasn’t trying to be the perfect Mom, I was at Dr’s appointments. Neurologists, eye docs and the like. It seemed as though everyone wanted a piece of me. Since MS is a challenge to diagnose, especially in the early stages, I was initially misdiagnosed & treated for Low Tension or Normal Tension Glaucoma. 1998 was the first year of my Multiple Sclerosis Journey. I wish it were more exciting!

Five Snacks I enjoy:
In a perfect, non weight-gaining world:

1. Cashews
2. Chocolate
3. Pickles
4. Gelatto
5. Cookies

In the real world:
1. Grapefruit
2. Espresso
3. Oatmeal
4. Tea
5. Apple slices w/lemon

Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
1. I have always wanted to wait in a crowded social services office in Los Angeles, CA; observing. I’d give out envelopes to a selected few as they left the building. Inside each envelope would be a little encouraging love note from me. And a generous Visa Gift Card to help them get out of the cycle of the Welfare System.
2. Pay off all debt for me and my family and friends.
3. Create a Non-Profit Organization that provides REAL supportive and punctual travel assistance to the home bound or wheelchair bound. Maybe I would call it Friends For Me. Not everyone has family or friends that can help them through countless Dr appointments and procedures during periods of chronic illness. The programs and public transportation available currently are just not up to par for waaaay toooo many reasons. No one should have to go to an appointment alone when they are ill. No one who is ill should have to wait 3 hours for a ride home from an appointment when they cannot physically sit up that long (as in my case). I have a buisness plan swirling around in my head as I type.
4. Go on a real vacation!! Ya, I ditto Lisa! I have never been to Hawaii, Europe or South America, and I would love to take off for a few months with my hunny and kids to travel. BUT along the way, I would use my Photography to do some photo journalism to raise awareness about the human condition on other parts of the globe.
5. Oh yea..and I would get my son a service dog, buy some new underwear and replace my gas guzzling, ozone depleting vehicles with greener ones.

2. Childcare provider for 12 Step meetings.
