Chest Port, say what?

Well, to have a Port implanted of all things done on my Birthday, was not exciting today. My neck is sore, they had to tape down my boobs to keep em out of the way (embarrassing), and it took so long they made me miss my Tysabri Infusion. Thankfully, I will have my Tysabri tomorrow via my new Port access. Just what I always wanted…to spend 2 full days at the Hospital.

Now I am home, and ready to lay down for awhile but I just had to write. I woke up at 4 am this morning and spent some quality alone, birthday time with myself baking Sourdough Bread. I started making my very first sourdough starter last week and this morning it was finally ready to bake. Yesterday I had also whipped up a batch of No Knead Bread (wonderfully easy and delish). SO, 2 hours of baking bread was my much needed therapy this morning. And my birthday gift to myself. I will be posting beautiful pics of the bread tomorrow, and a recipe to share with all of the bloggers who care about making bread as much as I do.

Now, if only this Port Pain In My Neck would let up. I would be a happy Birthday girl!

  1. Happy Birthday!!

Sorry about the pain of the port, but hopefully it will help you to sidestep infusion pains in the future. Two days at the hospital is no fun, but at least you won’t be missing your Tysabri this month. Also, thanks for participating with the “tag”.

  2. Happy birthday. A port is not what anyone would want to receive on their birthday, but I’m glad you got to make your bread. I hope you’re feeling better. I’m thinking about you.

  3. A port…well, my mom always says, “Any port in a storm.” I’m kind of glad I didn’t get DX w/MS later…they do so much to MSers now. I can’t see myself doing all I read about. If this leads to a cure–you are all heroes.
